Susan Smith-Peter is Professor of History and Director of the Public History program at the College of Staten Island/ City University of New York. For more than 20 years, she has studied the history of Russian journalism and civil society. She uses this depth of knowledge to help Americans understand the ways that Russian propaganda threatens democracy at home and around the world and how best to fight it.
